Have you decided NOT to install a tankless water heater? I'm leaning away from it.?
Seems it takes 22 years to recoup initial high cost, and has maintenance costs, and wastes water sandwich situation between cold and hot.
What is proper size natural gas pipe for tankless water heater w. max input of 185,000 btu?
Line from utility to meter is 3 4" . Line to house starts with short length of 1" , then reduces to 3 4" . run of pipe frm service to heater aprox. 50', with 8 elbows tees. There is already a 1" line under house, off of 3 4" from meter, to spa heater in back yard. If I need 1'' for heater, can I tee off existing 1" line, or am I limited by 3 4' from meter. length of run from possible tee is aprx. 25', with 2 elbows, to flex line to heater.
Tankless water heater not functioning properly! HELP?
Ok so I have a tankless water heater I purchased a few months ago. When we shower using the tub only the water regulates perfectly but as soon as we turn the shower on it is impossible to regulate, I have to constantly shut off the water because it gets too hot or too cold. Could this be a problem with my water heater or is it something with my shower?

it gets hot and then, mine never stays consistently hot. it changes from hot to cold, and then i adjust it and it goes haywire.is it me?yes ,i understand TWH's.just set the temp to 106, nd dont even turn on the cold tap, and VOILA perfect hot shower.

Should I upgrade to the tankless water heater or use a power vented storage type?
I purchased a on demand Rennai 190k BTU on demand water heater this week. I was talking with a plumber friend of mine, and he said not to install it, but to go to a storage type power vented unit instead. He insisted that these on demand units are riddled with problems and issues, and that I should stay with the power vented setup. I have the appropriate 3 4 gas line coming in, along with a large 1' coming in from the water meter. What should I do? Do I sell the on demand unit, and go to the power vented..... or stick with the on demand?

Electric Storage water heater to Gas Tankless water heater?
With all the rebate incentives, I'm thinking about going from a 50 gallon Electric storage water heater made in 2002 to a natural gas tankless water heater. How much will I expect to save a year? It's just two of us in the household, but we're planning on expanding the family. Our current electric bill is about $60 per month. After all the rebates, the price to upgrade would be about $900 including installation. Is it worth the investment?
