Can I have an electric tankless water heater in an apartment rental?
I am clueless about tankless water heaters other than I like the idea of it. My apartment has an old electric water heater. I'd like to get a tankless but I dont want it permanantly installed. Is there a way to just disconnect the old one and have this one installed so it can be reversed if I move out? and can the average joe install one or is it pretty complicated if one is good at following directions?We use very little hot water as it is so the smallest unit is all we would need.
Why does a tankless water heater need a stainless steel vent?
From what I understand a Rinnai tankless water heater needs a stainless steel vent. Why can it not use the vent from my old water heater?

Line from utility to meter is 3 4" . Line to house starts with short length of 1" , then reduces to 3 4" . run of pipe frm service to heater aprox. 50', with 8 elbows tees. There is already a 1" line under house, off of 3 4" from meter, to spa heater in back yard. If I need 1'' for heater, can I tee off existing 1" line, or am I limited by 3 4' from meter. length of run from possible tee is aprx. 25', with 2 elbows, to flex line to heater.
Is a tankless water heater the answer?
I have a mountain cabin which I get just occasional use 6 or 7 times a season My water system uses a 400 gal holding tank which I carry water into from a local, public Artesian well, and use a pressure pump to provide water pressure to a kitchen sink, a bathroom sink & toilet and a naval shower 3 gal minute with shut off at shower head and a 10 gal hot water heater.The problem is that the hot water heater seems to fail every 3 or 4 years. It has failed again and I am trying to figure out best solution. I am sure it is failing because it sets without use turned off and drained between uses In the past, I just replace with same, but now am thinking that it might be time to consider something different.My question is if a tank less unit might be the answer. using good spring water so not worried about hard water no gas, just electric, longest run is about 15' from heater closet to Kitchen, about 8' to bathroom sink and 4' to shower. Is this something I should consider? Have 110 outlet in closet, but would consider 220 if better. at rate I am going, tanks have cost me close to $1,000 for a stupid 10 gal tank.What is your experience and recommendation? Could there be something I can do to save the tank heater I have now? It is only 3 years old.
Can I install a electric tankless water heater in my RV?
I have a fifth wheel camper with 30amp service. Unfortunately last fall I wasn't able to winterize my camper in time for a hard freeze and froze and broke the water heater holding tank. Since I have the water heater out now I was thinking it may be time to switch to a tankless rather then replacing the old unit it. Is there a unit that anyone could recommend? Basically all I'm looking for is a hot shower that lasts for a lot longer then the 6 gal heater that was originally in the camper. Any help would be great, thanks.
Have an odd problem with a tankless water heater need to find a fix, see details?
During a shower, the water is fine then approx 5 to 15 minutes into the shower the water turns icy cold, if I switch the knob from shower to tub like to fill the bathub it turns hot within two or three minutes and I turn it back to shower and it is hot again. During a 20 to 30 min shower this can happen one or two times. However if I go to fill a tub with hot water, which itself can take 20 to thirty minutes it fills to the brim with hot water. ideas?
Tankless water heater, runs on (3) 40amp dual pole breakers, will upgrading to 200amp help it heat better?
i have 100amp now and when i turn on hot water it dims my house light and i have hit and miss hot water. the tank less heater is a 3 bowl system.
Gas tank in a Tankless Water Heater?
My new apartment has a furnace room inside the suite. It is a tankless water heater system that heats the water only when needed. However, I see that there is a small gas tank like gray tank sitting on the floor. My landlord doesn't know what that is and I don't either, but would like to find out.I live in BC, Canada, and so I assume Terasen brings it natural gas through underground pipes. Why would there be a gas tank in my suite? If it's not a gas tank, anyone what it is and if I should be concerned with any safety issues?
Tankless water heater question?
I currently have a standard natural gas 40 gallon water heater that I would like to switch over to a tankless system I currently have a weil mcclain boiler for my hot water heat, but wondered if I could just switch out the current hot water heater with a tankless. Or is there more involved ? Will the boiler just call for hot water from the new tankless heater, or is there a change in plumbing that needs to be done??
Tankless water heaters, electric codes require two 60 amp circuit breakers, I used two 50 amp ?
i used number 8 wire and circuit breaker is 10 feet from tanklesshot water heater hookup. do i have a problem using 50 amp circuit breaker ? so far everthing works great?
