Question: Can you use a gas tankless hot water heater when the lights go out?

Even though they burn gas to heat the water, they have electronic controls, so in the event of a power outage you will not be able to get hot water...something to think about.

Tankless water heaters are available in both gas or electric. You obviously can't use an electric model if the power goes out, and as the lady says, you still need electricity to control the gas models.

My Bosch Aquastar has no electronic components, so apparently not all tankless heaters need electricity to run.
