What is the downside of gas tankless water heaters?
I know they are a lot more expensive. Are there electrical parts that need replacing by high paid technicians.I can replace the old tank type myself for about $350.00.Can you install the high tech type by yourself or do you need a lot oftraining..I'm leaning toward the old fashion type.What do you think? Wile it may save some money on natural gas, what about any high price repairs.. And the fact that they start at about 6 or 7 hundred dollars. Electric Storage water heater to Gas Tankless water heater?
With all the rebate incentives, I'm thinking about going from a 50 gallon Electric storage water heater made in 2002 to a natural gas tankless water heater. How much will I expect to save a year? It's just two of us in the household, but we're planning on expanding the family. Our current electric bill is about $60 per month. After all the rebates, the price to upgrade would be about $900 including installation. Is it worth the investment?
